Lynne Aiken
Lynne Aiken has been involved in the Montessori community for over 30 years, first as a parent of children attending Montessori schools and then as a guide. She took her training in the first cohort of the Infant and Toddler level at Houston Montessori Center in 1986 and holds a Credential at the Infant and Toddler level through the American Montessori Society (AMS). In addition, Lynne has non-certification training at the Elementary level. She has taught all ages from 6 weeks through adolescence and has worked extensively with parents and teachers in training. Currently, Lynne is the Director of the Infant and Toddler program at Houston Montessori Center and provides consulting to schools through her own company, Heights Montessori Consulting.
Lynne's inquiry into Compassionate Communication, often called Nonviolent Communication, has paralleled her Montessori work. Lynne has attended numerous seminars and workshops sponsored by Houston Nonviolent Communication (HNVC) and has attended a biweekly “practice” group for the past many years. She has had several opportunities to share this work with the Montessori community in the Houston area.
